Applicant Qualifications/Requirements:
Applicant must:
Express their love for the Lord Jesus Christ and profess their trust in Him as Lord and Savior.
Be of high moral character and in pursuit of spiritual maturity.
Have good health to meet the demands of the role for which you are applying.
Submit three references (new staff only).
Attend new staff training (new staff only).
Be biblically sound and adhere to, believe, and sign camp’s Covenant of Faith.
Have a desire to share his/her love for Jesus with young people.
Be actively growing and pursuing a relationship with Jesus through personal Bible study and prayer with Jesus.
Have a servant attitude and a heart to serve others.
Understand, apply, and promote the Guiding Principles of Camp Venango for Jesus.
Actively participate in regular fellowship such as Church and/or Bible study.
Understand the complexities of CVFJ and be a team player.
Understand and follow the Chain of Command.
Follow the direction of the camp Dean during camp.
Attend pre-camp meeting, which generally is scheduled one week prior to camp.
Attend post-camp meeting if able.
Sign the Hold Harmless Waiver prior to camp.
If you are a counselor, you must be at camp in the entirety unless prior arrangements were made.
If not staying at camp overnight – you must check in with the Dean when arriving and when leaving.
Provide PA Criminal History Record and PA Child Abuse History Clearance (renewed every five years). For staff living outside of Pennsylvania or those who have lived in another state at any time, the FBI Criminal History Background Check is required.
CVFJ is committed to teaching campers high standards of Christian behavior which are fundamental to Christian community. Volunteers are to be persons whose Christian values and behavior are a worthy example for campers and each other.
There are camp rules that are important in building a Christian community of mutual respect. Your signature below indicates that you are willing to work within these boundaries, which will be discussed at new staff training.
